Capt.
Tom has more than 25 years experience on the waters of West Central
Florida giving him local knowledge, an advantage that's hard to beat.
Capt. Tom specializes in fly fishing, and whether your a seasoned pro
or just beginning, the trip will be tailored to your abilities. We
will be fishing from a custom rigged
Yellowfin 24 Bayboat. Capt. Tom is able to fish 3 people, all fishing licenses, all
tackle, lures, live baits and ice are provided --- all you need to
bring is food and beverages. |
I
would like to take this opportunity to give you an idea of what a day of fishing
aboard the "REEL OBSESSION"
will be like. The Trip will originate from one of several access points on the
west central gulf coast of Florida . Trips usually start at first light. We will
leave the ramp and normally be fishing in less than 15 minutes. That’s the
reason for using different ramps, to eliminate the need for prolonged running.
This gives us more fishing time. If we are targeting Snook or Redfish, then at
first light we will be in position on the flats to locate, see, and make a
presentation to the fish. To me half the fun and challenge is to see the fish
and make a offering and have him eat. Then you know that you've stalked the
flats and enjoyed the fun of sight fishing.
Once
the sun is up a little, and your vision adapts, you will see the beauty of flats
fishing. Being in water rare fishing. The life is abundant here, crabs,
baitfish, and birds abound. You may find that your sharing the flat with an Osprey or
maybe a group of Roseate Spoonbills on this morning. We will continue to fish
the flats until the sun gets high, then it will be over to the drop offs, and
some deeper water fishing. This is a typical day of flats fishing.
Whether light tackle
spin, plug, or fly fishing stalking the flats and sight fishing for a wide
variety of sport fish common to Florida is wonderful.
